Teak Wood Tropical Fish Carving w/ Stand (15 cm)

Seeking a standout desk, bookcase or shelf ornament that lends a little exotic sea flair to your space?  Have you been wanting to get a fish but don't have time to take care of a real one?  Grab this quirky and exquisitely hand-carved fish sculpture made from coveted teak wood!  This piece comes with its own square-shaped solid teak wood base for easy placement on any flat surface and boasts a rich, natural wood colour that goes with practically any style of home décor to add some visual interest and character.

Though the exact species of fish rendered in this sculpture is unknown, the Indonesian coastline is the largest in the world containing an extensive group of coral reefs (second only to Australia's Great Barrier Reef) with numerous tropical fish species that likely inspired the Balinese artist to carve this piece.

Also native to South and Southeast Asia, teak wood has a natural resistance to decay, rot, mildew, and warping having persisted in a region with consistently volatile weather. As such, its quality is maintained for centuries making it extremely durable and retaining its natural shine and rich appearance with little-to-no need for maintenance (which is rare for wood). So this piece doesn't require much but to be placed somewhere strategically to be appreciated and admired!
